Merry Go Round - The Beginnings - 1970 - 1972

The Merry Go Rounds were the first managerial adventure of my life through and through.

I invented them, educated them, educated them, fed them with lyrics and music, I found places to play, bought instruments, looked for concerts, record publishers and everything concerning the management of a progressive jazz rock band.

As I said before my friends weren't talented and beyond a certain limit we were unable to go.

Here is the training:

  • Fabio Smadelli: drums

  • Marco Cassinadri: drums

  • Gianni Vai: Bass

  • Walter Attisani: guitar

  • Fausto Pasotti: Solo guitar. keyboards, vocals and compositions

The beginnings - 1970 - 1971

I have included these pieces, as well as for personal affection, as an indispensable testimony of the very modest level of our first performances.

Probably recorded in via Tibaldi, 53 on an old Lesa at a speed of 4.5 cm / sec. The tape was played back at a speed of 9 cm / sec and then digitized on a computer in mp3 format.

Subsequently the signal was amplified, reduced by 67% speed while the pitch was increased by 195%.

In addition to a noticeable background noise, the tape was also affected by a track left over from previous recordings. I have not always been able to eliminate it.
